When She is depicted with a smile, it represents Her compassion and benevolence towards Her devotees.
She who is protective and nurturing and bestows blessings and grants boons and fulfilment of desires of Her sadhakas.
Her smile also denotes joy and triumph towards evil or adharma.
Her smile signifies the destruction of negativity which exists outside in nature as well as within the cosmos of the sadhaka.
She who smilingly and joyously establishes righteousness and brings order to chaos.
For Her devotees, a smiling Maa also signifies awakening of spiritual consciousness.
Her beautiful smile is a sign of inner peace, enlightenment and ultimate realisation of self.
Hence the name Smitasya.
