Maa Kaali represents Kaal (Time).
When a Sadhak walks the path of Her Sadhana, he aims to transcend time (Kaal).
She is the devourer of time.
She absorbs all.
She appears in a Sadhaka’s life to break this cycle of Time, of Rebirth and Death and swallow all that attaches the Sadhaka to Time.
She is the ultimate end.
She is Mukti.
And hence the name Karalasya.
